2022 Suzuki S-Cross SUV Confirmed For Australia | Nick Tsagaris

Suzuki has confirmed its new compact SUV is headed to Australia in 2022.

The updated S-Cross is packed with features, a fuel-efficient turbocharged petrol engine and all-wheel drive.

Suzuki Australia Automobiles chief, Michael Pachota, says the upgraded S-Cross is vital to the brand’s push into the popular SUV segment.

“With the launch of the all-new S-Cross and its potential long list of upgraded features and specifications on safety, driver convenience and class leading value, there is no doubt we will continue to increase our presence in the growing SUV market,” says Pachota.

The updated S-Cross comes with a nine-inch central display that is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

It maintains the 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine that currently makes 103kW and 220Nm, paired to a six-speed automatic transmission. Fuel use is rated at 5.9L/100km.

In Europe the new version will also gain a mild hybrid set-up that helps lower fuel use and provides brief periods of power boost.

Suzuki Australia has yet to confirm its engine line-up for the S-Cross.

There is ample safety equipment including blind-spot detection, traffic-sign recognition, auto emergency braking and a bird’s eye view camera.

Other features include heated leather front seats, 17-inch alloy wheels and a panoramic sunroof.

The S-Cross will compete in the compact SUV market against value-focused machines such as the Mitsubishi ASX.

The current version of the S-Cross is priced from just $30,990 drive-away. Suzuki Australia will reveal local prices close to the vehicle’s launch date, but expect the prices to rise slightly.
